Standard:
6i Write a report of an investigation that includes conducting tests, collecting data or examining evidence, and drawing conclusions.

Holistic Rating: Moderate coverage of this standard.
The Teacher's Edition that we used cites many activities as meeting this standard that do not significantly address this standard.
Most 2-page Explore activities at the beginning of each Topic involve students in recording something about the activity in their Science Journals.

Aspects that do not help student learning:
Students are usually asked to record information from individual steps, but not to form a comprehensive report of the investigation. Few, if any, opportunities are provided for
effectively critiquing and improving reporting skills.
