Assessment Briefs for Parents
The Public Understanding strand of CAESL provides parents and the general public with useful and accessible information on assessment and accountability issues. One major focus has been the generation of original CAESL "assessment briefs" for parents, guardians, and other caregivers with up-to-date discussions of key assessment-related topics.
These briefs are the result of an intensive process of writing, revision, and review. Authors and reviewers appear at the end of each brief. We have sought to provide accessible, balanced, and research-driven information on each topic, amidst acknowledged controversy. These briefs are intended as helpful informational summaries. They are not CAESL position statements, nor do they necessarily represent the precise views of diverse authors and reviewers. We hope you find them useful for parent or public education in your setting. Permission to reproduce, with CAESL copyright notice included, is granted. We welcome comments!
