Assessment Design

If assessment is to truly support student learning, it must be carefully designed to do so. Missing in the design of many existing assessments is a representation of how students gain and apply knowledge in the subject being assessed. CAESL is bringing together researchers, existing research on assessment design, and cutting-edge ideas to uncover methods to improve the ways that assessments support student learning.

In time, we will be reporting findings from our research on this site. For now, we describe the applied research projects that are under way.
