Description:
Due to rapid growth in the Hawthorne Elementary School District, Prairie Vista Middle School opened in the fall of 1998. Prairie Vista opened its doors four years ago with a clear vision the needs of the whole child will be met and there will be a schoolwide focus on literacy. This vision, along with strong district support in the areas of assessment, professional development, and standards has enabled Prairie Vista to help all students achieve academically. Prairie Vista has greatly surpassed its Academic Performance Index growth targets set by the California Department of Education each year. more »
