Comments re: Contacting the School:
All visitors must report to the office for a visitor's pass and a map of the school. All visitors must check in at the office prior to going to a classroom. Visitors should try to visit on Mondays or Thursdays in the morning. Thursdays are an excellent day because visitors may then attend a grade level or staff meeting also.

Description:
Martin Luther King Elementary School, located in Imperial County, began its journey toward improved student achievement through the disciplined path of reflection. Consistent and ongoing examination of student work has been a necessary focus to monitor student progress, inform instruction and plan further academic development for both students and teachers. Communicating with parents in a comprehensible way has built opportunities for student academic growth as well a pathway for collaboration between home and school. Key to the reform effort at MLK is instructional dialogue built on a foundation of professional trust. more »
