Adult Education is a BARGAIN, maximizing the use of funds while addressing community needs. Adult schools operate with great efficiency, leveraging the funds received per student through community collaboration. Adult school students "vote with their feet", as the saying goes, and adult education classrooms are filled with students whose educational needs have not been met elsewhere.
Parent education is one area of adult education that is strongly integrated with, and responsive to, community needs. In Hayward, for example, parent education works cooperatively with: the school district's k-12 schools; preschool special education; State Preschools; Alameda County Superior Court Children & Families Bureau; WIC; First Five Alameda County, Every Child Counts; and other local agencies. Strong families and parent involvement results in school success for our children, our future.
