| Description: Transition High School opened in March 2008 to serve students who have been incarcerated, expelled, or truant. THS opened with 39 students and will grow to 120 full- and part-time students in Fall 2008. THS is operated by Milwaukee Public Schools and serves city of Milwaukee youth. Approximately 60 students will be served at our central location and another 60 students will be located at two satellite locations or work in a true distance-learning capacity from home, residential treatment or detention facilities. Our mission is to provide a rigorous academic program in the context of a transformative social justice program that empowers students to become agents of change in their communities. |
