State Technology Contacts 3317.51 Distance learning fund The distance learning fund consists of moneys paid to the Ohio SchoolNet commission by any telephone company as a part of a settlement agreement between such company and the public utilities commission in fiscal year 1995. The authority shall administer the fund and expend moneys from it to finance technology grants to eligible schools chartered by the state board of education to establish distance learning in those schools. Distance learning means the creation of a learning environment involving a school setting and at least one other location outside of the school which allows for information available at one site to be accessed at the other through the use of such educational applications as one-way or two-way transmission of data, voice and video, singularly or in appropriate combinations. http://onlinedocs.andersonpublishing.com/oh/lpExt.dll?f=templates&fn=main-h.htm&cp=PORC 3302.7 Innovative education pilot programs The board of education of any school district, the governing board of any educational service center, or the administrative authority of any chartered nonpublic school may submit an application for an innovative education pilot program to the state board of education.
