State Technology Contacts W. V. Code 18-2E-9 (2002) West Virginia Virtual School The virtual school is located within the office of technology and information systems within the State department of education. The State superintendent of schools is given the authority to appoint the Director of the virtual school. The Director is responsible for contracting with course providers, reviewing courses, developing policy recommendations for consideration by the state board with regards to standards of teachers, sharing of resources, hardware and software, and methods for making courses available.
