State Technology Contacts Fla. Stat. ch. 1002.37 (2002) Florida Virtual School FVS is administratively housed within the Commissioner of Education's Office of Technology and Information Services. The Commissioner of Education is responsible for monitoring the school's performance and for reporting to the State Board of Education and the Legislature. The board of trustees of the FVS is responsble for identifying appropriate performance measures and standards and for implementing an accountability system that includes assessment of effectiveness and efficiency. The board of trustees must also submit an annual report to the Governor, Legislature, Commissioner of Education and the State Board of Education detailing the operations and accomplishments of the FVS, the marketing and operational plan for the FVS, and recommendations regarding an accountability mechanism. The school must collect and report data on the students served and credits awarded.
