Length of charter:   Charters are valid until revoked.

Caps on number of schools:   State Board is authorized to have 24 charters in 2003 and 8 additional in subsequent years. LEAs have no caps on their numbers.

Funding:   On average, 75 percent of per-pupil funding follows the child. The school district in which a charter school student resides shall pay to the host school district one-half of the amount by which the resident school district's per-student expenditure exceeds the value of the state funding.
