The EAC staff within your region, at the request of schools, provides a variety of services including workshops, seminars, conferences, technical assistance, information dissemination and professional development. The staff at each center can work with district personnel to design individualized activities to meet the needs of the school or districts requesting the services. Examples of services offered include:
Technical Assistance
- Development and implementation of school reform programs and strategies
- Development of strategies and programs for recruiting and retaining qualified women and minority staff members
- Assistance with integrating equity into the strategic planning process
- Examination of structures, procedures, and policies as possible sources for discrimination on the basis of race, gender, or nation origin
Professional Development
- Programs and professional development to improve the quality of bilingual education models that emphasize English and native languages
- Plan strategies that create safe and drug-free schools
- Provide training for school staffs in preventing and eliminating bullying at school
- Development of strategies to help increase at-risk student achievement in state content standards and student performance standards in math and science
- Assistance in the identification and use of assessment instruments for English language learners
- Assistance to districts in the development of educational options such as magnet and charter schools
- Assist in the identification and implementation of curricular materials that insure continuous academic achievement in reading, science, and mathematics
Information Dissemination
- Interactive website providing opportunities to link with other important internet sites related equitable academic success
- Development of training materials, assessment instruments, and products reflecting research-based best practices
