EdGateway Communities

The goal of EdGateway is to help participants achieve their objectives through better access to information, resources, and fellow educators. EdGateway has been created to develop and support learning communities.

EdGateway Communities

There are many communities currently under development in EdGateway:

  • Science Education

  • Environmental Education

  • Mathematics Education

  • General Education

  • San Diego Science Alliance

  • Distance Learning Resource Network

  • Coalition for Essential Schools

  • State Education and Environment Roundtable

  • Utah Edtropolis

Each community is comprised of groups representing organizations, projects and people. The presentation of information (by groups) is oriented around the interests of that community. For example a search for groups in the science community will display a list of groups involved in science education.

EdGateway has been designed to encourage collaboration between participants and groups across communities. A group, discussion, event, or other resource of interdisciplinary relevance can be related to multiple communities. This relational capability makes it possible to develop discussions and share an event with multiple audiences.

As a member of EdGateway, you can move in between communities just as you move in between communities in your geographic region. You can do this by clicking on the "EdGateway Communities" button in the left menu bar. You will notice that the graphics change between communities, but the functions stay the same.
