After signing in, you will automatically arrive at your very own EdGateway
Homebase. This page will serve as the focus of your activity
in EdGateway, conveniently linking you to any groups and overviews
you may subscribe to, and keeping your personal calendar of
EdGateway events.
Your Homebase actually serves a dual purpose: as an information
center for your use and as a way for others in the EdGateway
community to get to know a bit about you and your professional
interests. With that in mind, please take a moment to "Modify
your Profile" (find this link in the bar above your name on
your Homebase).

Some
options you have while in "Modify your Profile":
Change
Password/Community
Click on this link if you wish to change your password. Click
on Change Primary Community if you want to change the community
that you automatically go to when you enter EdGateway.
Biography
This is your opportunity to tell others about yourself. You
may always come back to edit and update it. Include information
here that will help others understand what you do and what you
are interested in. For example, if your focus is improving the
performance of inner city students in middle school math, then
include that in your write-up.
Interest Area
Select one or more subject areas as your primary interests within
EdGateway. Your selection here helps us gather information on
our user base. It does not in any way prevent you from easily
accessing other areas of EdGateway.
Picture URL
If you'd like to include a picture of yourself that is already
published on the web, set a link here to that image file.
Home
Page
Set a link to a personal Home Page or to your organization's
web site in this window.
When you finish modifying your profile, be sure to click the "Save"
button.

Right now your EdGateway Homebase will be mostly empty. However,
as you browse through the many groups participating in EdGateway,
you may find an interesting group or particular event that you
would like to participate in. Join these groups and activities
as you come across them by clicking on the "Subscribe"
button in the top menu bar-- they will appear thereafter on
your Homebase (which you can always get to by clicking on "My
Homebase" in the left menu bar).
Once you have subscribed to a group and it is on your home page,
you can go directly to it with one click right from your home
page. It is just as easy to remove a group or an event from
your home page, so don't worry about committing to a long-term
relationship.
